Dear Members,
Our EASTER EXHIBITION this year was kindly opened by Sir Miles Walker accompanied by his wife, Lady Walker. It was the society’s first attempt for a long time at organising the Preview which I believe on the night was very successful and enjoyed by all those who attended. The twelve saxophonists were certainly a talking point and a number of people commented on how good the food was this year.
The changes that we had made to the screen set up created additional walking space that was further improved since we used 2 less screens as we ...

Dear Members,
First of all I hope that you all had a good Christmas and I should like to wish you all a very happy and prosperous New Year.
Although I was unable to attend this year I have been informed that our Christmas party was, once again, a great success. Members have commented that the meal was superb and our thanks go to Jane Gibson. I would also like to thank the entertainers, Ken Radcliffe & Dot Tilbury who keep us all amused during the evening each year and to everyone who gave their time so willingly once again.

Dear Members,
Our EASTER EXHIBITION this year, kindly opened by the Honourable Noel Cringle, President of Tynwald and his wife, Mary, was a great success. Mr Cringle was a late substitute for Deemster Kerruish, who unfortunately was indisposed.
Comments relating to the new venue at the Villa Marine Colonnade, both complementary and otherwise, have been received although the complementary comments greatly outnumbered the adverse comments. The venue was rated a success with all of our screens accommodated and the exhibits were displayed without the need of additional easels and wall hanging. The support from the management was excellent.
It is ...

Dear Members,
Our EASTER EXHIBITION this year, kindly opened by His Excellency, the Governor and his wife, Lady Haddacks, was a great success although admissions were down on last year, possibly due to the lovely Easter weekend weather and the current economic conditions. The raffle was once again very well supported and many visitors commented on how attractive the water colour of the bridge at Glenfaba by our Vice-President, David Byrne, was.
The committee added an ‘E-mail Address’ field to the sales cards this year and a reminder was issued to all exhibit purchasers who had provided their addresses.
Thanks ...

Dear Members,
Our summer painting week was another great success. David proved to be an excellent teacher and was very happy to share his extensive knowledge with everyone who attended his workshops. He had a lot of advice particularly on drawing and found time for individual support. The Tuesday evening demonstration was well received by the 47 members and non-members who attended. An excellent supper was supplied by some of our regular members.
As we are fast approaching the beginning of September, can I remind everyone that the annual subscription will soon be due? If you wish to pay by ...

Dear Members,
Our EASTER EXHIBITION this year, kindly opened by His Excellency, the Governor and his wife, Lady Haddacks, was a great success. Admissions were up on last year, possibly due to the bright and cold weather conditions, and the raffle was very well supported. 99 members sold works including 10 new members!
The committee have decided to add an ‘E-mail Address’ field to the sales cards for the next exhibition as there were 25 sold exhibits that were not collected at the required time this year. If we have the buyers e-mail addresses we will be able to send ...
