Dear Members,
Our Autumn Exhibition has just finished, well done everyone, it was an excellent show, with sales well up on last year. Many thanks to everyone who worked so hard in setting up, and manning the exhibition, and helping in any way, it was a real team effort.
Our next big occasion is the AGM on Thursday 8th November, starting at 11-30am prompt, at Thie Ellyn. The meeting will be followed by lunch, which will cost £6.
As time is short, please will you complete the form below and return it with your cheque as soon as possible, as we have to have numbers for the lunch by the last week in October. Members thoroughly enjoyed the occasion last year; it was a good social event as well as an interesting meeting.
We shall need a new Chairman, as Peter is standing down. This is also my last year as secretary, and I would like to thank everyone for their patience and for the help I have received, I have enjoyed doing the job very much. Jackie Kelly has agreed to let her name go forward to replace me.
As yet the accounts are still with the Auditor, but we hope they will be available for the AGM, when we shall give them out to members who will be present. They will also be available at Thie Ellyn for anyone else who would like them.
And, the social event of the year is happening on Saturday, 1st December, so please put that date in your diaries straight away. It is of course our CHRISTMAS PARTY. It will be Olde Tyme Music Hall, and the (optional) dress will be Victorian, with a prize for the best hat! Tickets will be £13-50, and with the top class entertainment and EXCELLENT food, this must be the bargain of the century. New members, you simply cannot miss it.
If you still haven’t filled in your standing order for your subs, or sent a cheque, please do so now. Please remember we are sketching in St Mary’s church in Douglas on Thursday. It is a beautiful church if you haven’t been in before.
See you at the AGM, my good wishes to you all,
Sheila Scott (Hon Sec)
