    Dear Members,

    First of all I hope that you all had a good Christmas and I should like to wish you all a very happy and prosperous New Year.

    Our Christmas party was, once again, a great success. It was a very enjoyable evening, thanks to the delicious food provided by Denise and served by her family. Thanks again go to the entertainers who kept us all amused during the evening. We give our thanks to everyone who gave their time so willingly once again.

    Dear Members,

    Our EASTER EXHIBITION this year, kindly opened by the Honourable Noel Cringle, President of Tynwald and his wife, Mary, was a great success. Mr Cringle was a late substitute for Deemster Kerruish, who unfortunately was indisposed.

    Comments relating to the new venue at the Villa Marine Colonnade, both complementary and otherwise, have been received although the complementary comments greatly outnumbered the adverse comments. The venue was rated a success with all of our screens accommodated and the exhibits were displayed without the need of additional easels and wall hanging. The support from the management was excellent.

    As we are nearing the beginning of September, can I remind everyone that the annual subscription is now due? If you wish to pay by standing order, please submit a form to our Membership Secretary, Mr Stuart Houghton, 9 Ashlar Drive, Union Mills, Isle of Man, IM4 4LJ. Paying by standing order reduces the work required by the committee members and also means that you do not have to remember to pay to post cheques every year.     To all Members,

    The Annual General Meeting was successfully completed on 11th November with an attendance of 32, with Margaret Oates, President, presiding.

    As Des Brookes, Chairman had indicated that he wished to stand down due to pressure at work, and Phil Gale as Treasurer due to his worsening disability, the following changes were agreed unanimously:-

    • Mr Peter Hepworth as Chairman, In succession to Mr Des Brookes who has also left the Committee.
    • Mr Peter Oates as Honorary Treasurer in succession to Mr Phil Gale, who has also left the committee.
